Dakuon - Handakuon - Number |
Some of Hiragana and Katakana can change if written with dakuten (tanda petik dua/") and handakuten (seperti simbol derajat/०).
Dakuon
Dakuon literally means turbid or murky sound. Dakuon is indicated with two small dots ("). This only apply to か [ka], さ [sa], た [ta] and は [ha]-row syllables. Below the table about dakuon:

FYI, JI and DJI have same sound: Ji. Literally pronounce like JIka. DJI is for write with keyboard. This rule also apply to ZU and DZU. You pronouce it ZU. DZU is for write with keyboard.
It's so easy right? Just put " and it changes! Remember, just for ka, sa, ta, and ha-row syllables.
Handakuon
Handakuon literally means half-turbid or half-murky sound. Handakuon is indicated with a small circle (०). This only apply to ha-row syllables.

Actually there's another lesson about Youon and Sokuon. But maybe I write about it in another post because right now I want to write about Number in Japanese as request by my reader 😘😘

Number
Number in Japanese is so simple. Just to memorize from one to ten!
Number in Japanese |
Example of Number in Japanese |
Note!
Why number 4 is shi or yon? Why number 7 is nana or shichi?
You need to remember the rule. Haha. To talk about age, you use yon instead of shi. Example:
Rika-chan is 4 years old.
Rika-chan wa yon sai desu
リカ-ちゃん は よん さい です。
But to talk about month, you use shi instead of yon. Example: shi gatsu - し月. Gatsu is month in Japanese.
Number seven have same rule. To talk about age, you use nana. But for month, you use shichi.
If you already learn Mandarin, you will easy to write it with Kanji because in Mandarin also use this Kanji for number right?? It's like proverb "Sekali dayung, dua tiga pulau terlampaui". Yeah, you just to remember the kanji, you can use it for Japanese and Mandarin. 😁😁😁
As I said before, it different when you said it. While in Mandarin 1, 2 , 3 = yi, er, san, in Japanese is ichi, ni, san.
Question again!
How about 100? 1.000? 10.000?? For this kind of numbers, you need to add hyaku for 100, sen for 1.000, and man for 10.000. I think for this kind of numbers, will be explain in another post. I also just learn a little about this. I afraid I teach it wrong. 🙄🙄
Ok, that's for today. Thank you for learn about Dakuon - Handakuon - Number with me. 😉
